Trent valley Equestrian Centre is a purpose built riding establishment with experienced BHS and ABRS trained and qualified staff, offering between them a vast array of equestrian knowledge, but still with a personal friendly touch. Trent valley has fantastic facilities with several outdoor schools and our international size indoor arena, allowing for great flexibility.
There are ponies and horses to suit the needs of every rider, from the absolute beginner through to more experienced competitor. Many regularly compete both locally and nationally. We pride ourselves on the wide range of excellent horses available. All the centre horses and ponies are well schooled and specially bought for their nature and performance.
The ponies are child friendly and have super temperaments for beginners just learning to ride, to our more experienced junior riders wishing to compete.
Prior to your first lesson, we will need you to complete our “Riders Registration Form”. You can download the forms and complete at your ease and then bring along with you on the day.
Trent valley EC also provide safety hats for £1 per time and boots and body protectors at no extra cost.
We are open six days a week, bookings can be made and paid for over the phone.
If you wish to meet the horses and ponies before booking a lesson we will be more than happy to show you around the yard and introduce you to our great staff and fantastic facilities.
Lessons
Group lessons
Trent valley group lessons cover a wide range of activities; each session is prepared and tailored to our clients needs and abilities. The lesson type is changed weekly, ie) one week jumping (this may cover outdoor/indoor x-country or showjumping) then dressage/ flat the following week.
Individual/small-group lessons
There is always the opportunity to have individual or small-group tuition - these are arranged individually to suit the client(s).
Recognition
Trent valley encourages all its clients not only to learn and improve their equine knowledge and riding skills but to have the opportunity to compete and take appropriate qualifications. To support this, each lesson is delivered following a lesson plan created using BHS and ABRS criteria. During each lesson our experienced qualified staff will be assessing clients, and then work towards preparing each group for our optional exam days where clients can gain formal recognition of their progress if they so wish. Specific exam preparation sessions are also available.
Hacking out
We are very lucky to be sited in the Trent Valley only a 10 minutes ride from the beautiful River Trent and Southwell historic Minster town with its own nature trail and miles of bridle ways and tracks. All trail rides/hacks are escorted and clients are assessed prior to any hacking.
